Refund Policy
Fishing Codex · Effective 26 May 2026 · Last updated 23 June 2026
1. Two separate payment channels
Fishing Codex operates two distinct purchase channels, each with a different refund path:
| Purchase type | Processed by | Refund route |
|---|---|---|
| Web marketplace (paid spots, creator subscriptions on fishingcodex.com) | Stripe, on behalf of the creator (direct charge) | Stripe dispute / card issuer chargeback — or contact us |
| App Pro subscription (iOS or Android) | Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) | Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com — Google: Google Play refund request |
2. Web marketplace — refund & dispute process
Because creators are the merchant of record for their own sales, FCL does not unilaterally issue refunds for web marketplace transactions. The available remedies are:
- Contact us first. Email hello@fishingcodex.com with subject “Refund request” and your order details. We can investigate whether a listing failed to match its description, whether a technical failure prevented delivery of access, or whether a statutory consumer-rights claim applies. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
- Stripe dispute. If you paid by card, you may raise a dispute with your card issuer. If Stripe upholds the dispute: your access to the purchased content is immediately revoked, and a clawback is recorded against the creator's balance.
If your entitlement is not reflected in your Fishing Codex app within 30 minutes of a successful Stripe payment, email hello@fishingcodex.com with subject “Entitlement not granted” and we will resolve it manually.
3. Web marketplace subscription cancellation
Cancellation stops the next renewal but keeps your access until the end of the period you have paid for. To cancel: go to fishingcodex.com/account → Subscriptions → Cancel.
We do not refund the unused portion of a current billing period unless a statutory consumer right requires it. If a creator closes their account or is suspended, your subscription access continues until the end of the current paid period and does not auto-renew thereafter.
4. Access revocation
Access to purchased content is revoked on:
- A confirmed refund or successful dispute/chargeback.
- A subscription renewal failure (after the applicable grace period).
- Account suspension for fraud, policy violation, or Terms breach.
5. Creator suspension — existing purchasers
If we suspend a creator's account, existing purchasers and subscribers keep access to that creator's content until the end of their current paid period. Subscriptions do not auto-renew after a suspension. One-off spot purchases remain accessible unless the content itself must be removed for policy reasons.
6. App Pro (Apple / Google) — refund process
App Pro is a separate in-app subscription processed entirely by Apple or Google. FCL cannot issue or block a refund for App Pro.
iOS (Apple):
- Open reportaproblem.apple.com, or go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Sign in with the Apple ID you used to purchase.
- Find the Fishing Codex App Pro transaction and submit a refund request.
Android (Google): request at Google Play — Request a refund, or from your order history in the Google Play app.
To cancel App Pro: iOS → Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Fishing Codex Pro → Cancel. Android → Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Fishing Codex Pro → Cancel.
7. Contact
For refund questions, email hello@fishingcodex.com with subject “Refund request” and include: your account email, the product purchased, the purchase date, and (for web purchases) the Stripe payment reference from your confirmation email.
