Fishing Codex — the free fishing app for iOS and Android

The Fishing Codex app is free to download and the core is free to use: the private logbook, offline maps, worldwide tides, the 14-day forecast on every entry, Best Fishing Times, and catch statistics. It works fully offline and no account is required. Entries save to the device first and sync to the cloud when connected. The app is available for iOS and Android.

Every entry carries a 14-day weather-and-sea forecast for its exact location anywhere on earth — temperature, wind, swell, rain, pressure and more — built on the same global weather data the major forecast apps use, at no cost to you. It stays readable offline from your last sync. The forecast, tides, moon and Best Fishing Times are all free.

Every entry gets its tide state and moon phase auto-filled from that exact date, time and place — including imported entries. Bring in a photo from 25 years ago and the app works out the tide and moon for the day it was taken, so you know exactly when to fish it next. You can also import locations from GPX, KML and CSV files, including fishfinder and chartplotter waypoint exports.

The app's only in-app purchase is App Pro, a subscription sold through the App Store and Google Play. It adds unlimited free-entry claims that stay on your map, following anglers, advanced catch statistics, condition-matched entry ranking, and 10 GB of cloud photo backup. App Pro is optional — the logbook works fully without it.

When you unlock or claim an entry on fishingcodex.com, the exact location appears on your private in-app map. The app never shows prices or buy buttons — all unlocking, publishing and claiming happens on the website. The same account works on the website and in the app.
