Delete your Fishing Codex account

Fishing Codex · FISHINGCODEX LIMITED · Last updated 23 June 2026

How to delete your account (in the app — about 30 seconds)

  1. Open Fishing Codex
  2. Go to Me → Settings
  3. Scroll to Danger Zone → Delete account
  4. Confirm. Deletion of your cloud data starts immediately.

Can't access the app? Email hello@fishingcodex.com with the subject “Delete my account” from the email address linked to your Apple or Google sign-in. We verify it is you, then complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by reply.

What is deleted

  • Your account record and profile (display name, avatar)
  • Your cloud-synced spots, catches, tracks metadata, and photos
  • Your feed posts, comments, follows, and reviews
  • Your Sign in with Apple / Google sign-in connection (the sign-in token link is revoked)
  • Your push-notification tokens and device registrations
  • Your web marketplace entitlements and purchase history (identifying fields; transaction references may be retained for tax — see below)

Data stored only on your device is removed by deleting the app. Deletion of cloud data is permanent — we cannot restore a deleted account.

Before you delete

  • Export your data first if you want a copy: Settings → Data → Data export (JSON of your spots, catches, and account record).
  • You can delete individual spots, catches, or posts at any time without deleting your account.
  • Cancel web marketplace subscriptions before deleting: go to fishingcodex.com/account → Subscriptions → Cancel. This ensures Stripe does not attempt to charge you after deletion.
  • Cancel App Pro (if active) separately in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, otherwise the store keeps billing you.
  • Creators with active buyer obligations, unsettled earnings, or active subscriber base may need a short support-assisted wind-down. The app will tell you if so — email hello@fishingcodex.com and we will complete it with you.

Full details of how we handle data are in the Privacy Policy (§ 7 Your rights and § 9 Retention).
